In it's simplest form Affiliate Marketing is revenue sharing between advertisers and and mechants where the mechant pays an advertiser every time they send a paying customer to the merchant.
The payment amount will vary between affilate programs, but is usually a percentage of the final sale price of a product.
In many respects, affiliate marketing can be a low cost and low risk venture for the advertiser as they only need to send targeted visitors to the merchant and do not need to buy anything themselves, tie up any money in stock or deal with customer complaints, deliveries or returns.
